Toyota Canada Foundation Donation Highlights Importance of STEM

Toyota Donates To Importance Of STEM | Calgary, AB

There’s no doubt that children are our future, which is why it should come as no surprise that the Toyota Canada Foundation has decided to invest in the youth of Canada. The Foundation recently announced a $150,000 investment in Let’s Talk Science, a program that helps educate kids across Canada in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.

“In a rapidly changing, complex world, it is critical that we ensure all children and youth remain curious, ask questions, and have the skills required to participate, thrive, and lead,” said Bonnie Schmidt, president of Let’s Talk Science. “Toyota recognizes that Let’s Talk Science experiences support talent development required for Canada’s future success.”

The Toyota Canada Foundation donation will help the program continue to provide Canadian youth with access to free, hands-on STEM-based programming in both English and French. It will especially allow the program to engage parts of the population that are currently underrepresented in the STEM field – particularly girls, Indigenous youth, rural and remote youth, and youth with socioeconomic challenges. Doing so is a priority for the Toyota Canada Foundation.

Along with the $150,000 donation, Toyota Canada Foundation also gave a $50,000 investment to help the Let’s Talk Science outreach program expand in Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Woodstock, and London, Ontario, making its total donation hit the $200,000 mark.

At High River Toyota, we’re proud that our company supports STEM initiatives. It can only lead to better technology and engineering in the automotive industry’s future.
