As the weather warms up, it’s time to start thinking of some great ways to get outdoors with your family. Luckily, Alberta is filled to the brim with beautiful gardens and conservatories that you can enjoy. Here are a few outdoor destinations to explore in Alberta.
Conservatory & Gardens at Calgary Zoo
The Calgary Zoo has more than just animals to offer. It also has flora from all over the world. Stretching across six acres, the Dorothy Harvie Gardens are filled to the brim with plants and trees from Alberta, while the indoor ENMAX Conservatory is home to tropical plants and shrubs, along with hundreds of butterflies.
Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in Lethbridge
Step into the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden for a unique experience in Alberta. This four-acre garden was created in 1967 to celebrate the citizens of Japanese ancestry in Lethbridge. It has structural features that were crafted in Kyoto, Japan and will help you feel at peace as you walk through the beautifully designed gardens.
High River Community Gardens
We here at High River Toyota love to get back to nature close to home, and the High River Community Gardens are a great place to do so. These two gardens are located in McLaughlin Meadows near the Town Farm. Here, local gardeners can take a plot and grow whatever they please there. It’s a great place to walk through and simply enjoy the beauty of vegetables, fruit, and flowers growing.
