When it was first introduced in 2001, the Toyota Highlander redefined the midsize family SUV segment. Now, it’s continuing to do so again with the all-new 2020 model.
The 2020 Toyota Highlander, which debuted earlier this year at the New York International Auto Show, offers a bold new style, innovative safety features, a long list of technologies, and five trim levels to choose from, including the new base L grade, LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum.
For the 2020 model year, the Highlander also comes with a new vehicle platform called the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA-K). This foundation is more robust and provides a smoother, safer ride for consumers.
The fourth-generation Highlander will offer two powertrain options – a V6 or a hybrid. The V6 engine will offer an estimated fuel-efficiency rating of 10.7 L/100 km combined,* while the hybrid powertrain will offer 6.9 L/100 km combined.
Safety-wise, the new Highlander will come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of safety technologies. This means every model will come with a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, and the new Lane Tracing Assist technology.
Other available features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, a new JBL Premium Sound System, and the choice of three available all-wheel-drive systems.
