Tips for SUV Maintenance from High River Toyota

Like any vehicle, your SUV needs to be cared for so it continues to run smoothly. Whether you’re driving a Toyota Highlander or a Toyota RAV4, there are ways that you can make sure your vehicle stays in tiptop condition. These tips for SUV maintenance are a good place to start.

Keep an eye on your tires. The tires are an important part of your SUV. Check tire pressure regularly, and fill them up if the pressure is above or below the recommended range. Also, keep an eye on your tires’ tread, verifying that they still have the depth to drive safely.

Don’t forget about routine maintenance. Every car needs to have a routine oil change and tire rotation, and your SUV is no exception. Keep up with your SUV’s recommended maintenance schedule, which can be found in your owner’s manual. This will keep it running like new.

Pay attention to your engine. If you’ve been driving your SUV for a while, you know what it’s supposed to sound like. Listen for any obvious changes in your engine’s sounds. Also, if the check engine light comes on, make sure you bring your Toyota in to our service centre at High River Toyota for repairs.

Change out the cabin filter. Your cabin air filter is there to keep the air clean, collecting any pollutants that might be trying to enter your SUV. Make sure you clean or replace it every few months for good air quality in your vehicle.

Give your interior a cleaning. Over time, snack crumbs, sticky hands, and dirty shoes can cause your interior to start looking a bit mucky. Give your cabin a good vacuum and wipe down every now and then to ensure your SUV continues looking like new.
