As a parent, driving your children around town can be tiring – especially if someone in your family has kept you up all night. Luckily, High River has a lot of coffee places nearby that you can grab a pick-me-up from to help get you through the day. These are some of the convenient options we at High River Toyota suggest.
Evelyn’s Memory Lane Café
Whether you’re running local errands or planning a road trip across Alberta, consider stopping at Evelyn’s before you head out. This diner is old-school, offering a relaxing, 1950s-inspired experience when it’s open to sit-in. Right now, you can pick up a coffee with ease, along with home-baked pies, desserts, salads, comfort food, and more via takeout. Even if you have a picky eater, they will likely find something they love here.
Pick-me-ups have never tasted as good as they do at Oxford Bakehouse. Inspired by English cuisine, this café offers great coffee – or tea – as well as a range of savoury pies, sausage rolls, and other foods that are easy to eat on the go.
Whistle Stop Café
Next stop, delicious coffee from Whistle Stop Café! This local diner calls an old train car home, making it a unique spot in High River. Add the fact that it has loads of delightful specials, outdoor dining options, and is currently offering delivery – not to mention fresh pies baked daily – and you can’t go wrong making a pit stop here while running errands.
Drink some tasty coffee in your new Toyota from High River Toyota as you head to work or drop off the carpool crew at school.
Like any vehicle, your SUV needs to be cared for so it continues to run smoothly. Whether you’re driving a Toyota Highlander or a Toyota RAV4, there are ways that you can make sure your vehicle stays in tiptop condition. These tips for SUV maintenance are a good place to start.
Keep an eye on your tires. The tires are an important part of your SUV. Check tire pressure regularly, and fill them up if the pressure is above or below the recommended range. Also, keep an eye on your tires’ tread, verifying that they still have the depth to drive safely.
Don’t forget about routine maintenance. Every car needs to have a routine oil change and tire rotation, and your SUV is no exception. Keep up with your SUV’s recommended maintenance schedule, which can be found in your owner’s manual. This will keep it running like new.
Pay attention to your engine. If you’ve been driving your SUV for a while, you know what it’s supposed to sound like. Listen for any obvious changes in your engine’s sounds. Also, if the check engine light comes on, make sure you bring your Toyota in to our service centre at High River Toyota for repairs.
Change out the cabin filter. Your cabin air filter is there to keep the air clean, collecting any pollutants that might be trying to enter your SUV. Make sure you clean or replace it every few months for good air quality in your vehicle.
Give your interior a cleaning. Over time, snack crumbs, sticky hands, and dirty shoes can cause your interior to start looking a bit mucky. Give your cabin a good vacuum and wipe down every now and then to ensure your SUV continues looking like new.

Donating medical necessities. The carmaker has also donated gloves, protective eyewear, and sanitary boot protectors.
Manufacturing necessities. TMMC is also working with a 3D printing company called Inksmith to create protective face masks using six 3D printers. It’s also connecting with industrial partners and governments to come up with a plan to produce components used in medical equipment, including ventilators.
Developing infrastructure. TMMC is also offering the expertise of its Toyota Production System to help manufacturing and technology companies improve the testing infrastructure for COVID-19.
